About Clinical Decision
Clinical Decision publishes guides to the AI tools clinicians use to make decisions: answer engines, clinical decision support, documentation AI and the APIs developers build them on. Every guide is dated, every factual claim links to its source, and every source shows when it was last checked.
Who publishes Clinical Decision
Clinical Decision is published by EvidenceMD, the clinical reasoning AI company. EvidenceMD is one of the tools covered in these guides, alongside the products clinicians most often compare it with.
How tools are chosen and ranked
A tool is included when clinicians can use it today for the job a guide covers. Rankings are an editorial judgment against five criteria, applied the same way to every tool:
- Reasoning. Does the tool work through a clinical problem and show its steps, or only return a summary? Reasoning you can inspect is reasoning you can check.
- Evidence. Is each claim tied to a source a clinician can open — a guideline, a trial, a review — rather than to the model's memory?
- Access. Who can use it today, in which countries, and what verification it requires. A tool most clinicians cannot open is ranked on that basis.
- Price. Whether the price is published, what the free tier includes, and what an individual clinician would actually pay.
- Workflow and data. How it fits the work around the decision — notes, EHR, presentations, APIs — and how it handles patient data (HIPAA, business associate agreements, retention).
Facts about each product — price, access, features, data protection — come from the vendor's own pricing pages and documentation, regulators and peer-reviewed literature, and are linked where they are used. Vendor-reported figures such as user counts and benchmark scores are labelled as vendor-reported.
Updates
Prices, access rules and features change often in clinical AI. Each guide is re-checked at least monthly and whenever a vendor announces a change; the updated date at the top of a guide changes only when its content does.
Corrections
If a fact in any guide is wrong or out of date, email [email protected]with the page and a source. Confirmed errors are corrected and the guide's updated date is changed.
Medical disclaimer
These guides are for healthcare professionals evaluating software. They are not medical advice, and no AI tool replaces the judgment of the treating clinician.
